How It Works

The TTFM100 New Generation (NG) Transit Time Flow Meter measures flow rate by calculating the time it takes for an ultrasonic wave to travel upstream and downstream within a pipe.

This flow meter is ideal for measuring the flow of homogeneous fluids, even those with a high percentage of suspended solids. It consists of two ultrasonic transducers that are acoustically coupled to the pipe’s outer wall, although wetted sensors in direct contact with the fluid can also be used. The HOST unit processes the signals sent and received by the transducers and uses a DSP microprocessor to send signals to control or process systems.
