Microwave level switches are reliable, non-contact devices ideal for chute block detection in challenging applications involving high temperatures, high pressures, or abrasive materials that could quickly damage contact-type sensors. These switches provide durable and accurate performance in harsh conditions.

How It Works

The microwave level switch operates by emitting a beam of microwaves from the sender to the receiver in bursts of 220 times per second.

If the beam is blocked by any material that absorbs or reflects the microwaves, the signal path is interrupted, triggering the relay. This action signals a blockage or level change. The switch can also be used to detect obstructions through refractory linings, making it highly effective in high-temperature and harsh conditions.
