140 GHz Radar Level Transmitter

Get unparalleled accuracy in liquid level measurement in the toughest of environments!

Our 140 GHz Radar Level Transmitter is the highest frequency radar level transmitter in the world. It has a 2° beam angle, which makes it great for tight spaces. It also includes a built-in 2-axis inclination sensor. It works best in applications where materials fill and empty quickly, like measuring molten metal up to 1600°C, handling high pressure, and working with tricky materials like low dielectric substances. It’s perfect for silos, bunkers, and liquids with mixers, fumes, and vapors. Having such a strong energy and narrow beam, it doesn’t need any air purge for cleaning.

How It Works

A level probe on the tank roof measures liquid levels by sending a microwave signal that reflects off the liquid surface. The difference in frequency between the transmitted and reflected signals helps calculate the distance to the liquid.

However, in real situations, other structures or uneven surfaces can distort the signal. To handle this, the emitted and reflected signals are mixed, creating a new frequency signal. The probe’s microprocessor processes this to identify the desired frequency and converts it into a distance. This distance is subtracted from the probe’s height to get the tank’s filling level.
